Dolores N. Carling, 78, of Southington, wife of Wayne R. Carling, passed away peacefully on Friday,, Oct. 11, 2019 at the Hospital of Central CT surrounded by her loving family.
Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Irving R. and Joan (Schubert) Nichols. Dolores was a Kensington and East Berlin resident for 50 years. She was formerly employed at SNET, before retiring. Dolores was a former member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the Altar Guild. She was a former volunteer at Berlin Peck Memorial Library and the Landscape Committee at Stony Mill Condominiums.
Surviving are her husband, Wayne R. Carling; two sons, Edward W. Carling and Robert L. Carling; a daughter, Jill C. Cowperthwaite; a brother, Richard L. Nichols; seven grandchildren, Matthew Carling, Emily Noel, Meredith and Samuel Carling, Lauren, Michael and Kevin Cowperthwaite; and three great-grandchildren, Thomas Matthew Carling, Maria and Felicity Noel. She was predeceased by a brother, Irving R. Nichols.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home of Berlin, 111 Chamberlain Hwy, Kensington. Burial will be in South Burying Ground. Calling hours are Tuesday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of the service.
