Lyle Menard Obituary

Lyle Christopher Menard of Kensington, CT, passed away surrounded by his loving family on July 26, 2019 at Hartford Hospital following a sudden and brief illness.

Lyle was born on March 6, 1963, in Meriden, CT to the late Romeo and Elizabeth (Pat) Menard. He spent most of his life in Meriden, graduating from H.C.Wilcox Technical High School in 1981. Upon graduation, he joined the United States Marine Corps where he faithfully served his Country for four years and furthered his education. He married the love of his life and best friend, MaryAnn (Pappas) Menard in 1989 and spent the next 30 years laughing with his Greek family.  Lyle was employed for twenty years as a Structured Cabling Specialist at Sieman’s Company in Watertown, CT where he enjoyed laughing and playing pranks on his beloved coworkers daily.

Along with his wife, he leaves behind two treasured Daughters, Marie Hatten and wife Colleen Hatten of Meriden, CT, Laura (Hatten) O’Brien and husband Jon-Michael O’Brien of Kensington, CT and his four grandchildren , the loves of his life, Julianna , Johnny,  Sophia and Amelia.

He is also survived by his brothers, Romeo Menard and wife Tina of North Carolina, Mike Menard and wife Becky of Maryland, Kenny Menard of Meriden, CT; his sisters Cindy Marenna and husband Tony of Meriden, CT, Bridget Gaudreau and husband Jim of Meriden, CT, and Dawn Menard and her life partner Rudy Rivera of Meriden, CT, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He also leaves behind his loving in-laws, John and Pat Pappas of Meriden, CT, his predeceased sister-in-law Elaine Page and brother-in-law Mike Page of West Hartford, CT, brother-in-law Thomas Pappas of Meriden, CT, and adored nephews, Joey and wife Anne Page of Old Saybrook, CT, and Austin Page of Milford, CT and two great nephews, whom he enjoyed celebrating holidays and great memories with.

Lyle was a kind, funny, brilliant man who enjoyed spending time with family and friends, engaging in deep conversations, while sipping on a fine glass of bourbon or scotch, and smoking a cigar. He had the easy ability to light up every room he walked into with his great sense of humor and boisterous laugh.  Lyle was most proud of his grandchildren, spending countless hours with them playing, shopping, studying, and showering them with unconditional love.  Lyle also enjoyed traveling with his wife to his second home in Tierra Verde, Florida where he admired the tranquil sunsets and company of lifelong friends.  Above all else, he will be most missed for his generous and loving heart.
