Angela (Spada) Defrancesco

Angela DeFrancesco was born October 14, 1940 in Melilli, Italy.  She was the daughter of the late Sebastiano and Maria (Formica) Spada.  She passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 83 on January 29th, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.

Angela came to the United States in 1962.  She worked as a seamstress at D&L department store and at Mickey Finn’s before retiring. Angela was a great Italian cook and enjoyed cooking for her family. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, watching her hydrangeas blossom, and spending her summers at the beach in Clinton.  Angela will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

She leaves behind her husband, Vincenzo, of 53 years.   She is survived by son Vinnie and wife Liz, son Steve and wife Jackie, and four grandchildren, Vincenzo, Isabella, Noah and Logan DeFrancesco, all of Berlin.  She was predeceased by her brothers Gino, Pietro and Sebastiano.  She is also survived by her brothers Luigi Spada and wife Joanne, Salvatore Spada, and sisters Liliana and husband Angelo Tuccitto, and Carolina Vinci and husband Anthony, all of Middletown, brother-in-law Domenico and sister-in-law Maria DeFrancesco, brother-in-law Nicolo and sister-in-law Angelina DeFrancesco of Berlin, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024 at 10 AM at St. Paul Church.  Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery.  A calling hour will be held on Saturday from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home of Berlin, 111 Chamberlain Hwy, Berlin.  Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 200 Executive Boulevard, Suite 4B, Southington, CT 06489.
