BERLIN - Anthony "Beetle" Joseph Farone, 66, a life-long resident of Berlin died Thursday evening (December 11, 2014) at his home. Born in New Britain, son of the late John J. Farone Sr. and the late Mary Ann (Bakaj) Farone, he served in the US Army in Korea, and was employed by Local 478 Operation Engineers. He was a member of St. Paul's Church, the Italian Political Independent Club, and New England Antique Racers. He is survived by a son, Joseph Farone of Bristol, two daughters and a son-in-law, Jennifer and Peter Kern of Kensington, and Jacqueline Dunleavey of East Berlin, two brothers and a sister-in-law, Joseph J. Farone, and William and Margaret Farone, all of Kensington, two sisters, Helen Farone of Kensington, and Mary Farone of Meriden, two grandsons, Jackson Kern and Patrick Hrubiec, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Stanley Bakaj and John J. Farone Jr. Funeral services will be held Tuesday (December 16, 2014) at 9am from Porter's Funeral Home, 111 Chamberlain Highway, Kensington, with a Funeral Liturgy at 10am at St. Paul's Church on Alling Street. Burial with full military honors will follow in South Burying Ground, Kensington. Friends and relatives are invited to call at the funeral home on Monday (December 15, 2014) from 5-8pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation of Connecticut, 1463 Highland Avenue, Cheshire, CT 06410.
