Arlene G. Morris

Arlene G. Morris, 79, of Kensington, wife of Eugene J. Morris Jr., passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at the Hospital of Central CT, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Genevieve (Ryszkiewicz) Gavelek.  Arlene was a former New Britian resident before moving to Kensington in 1974.  She was a member of Holy Cross Church in New Britain.  Arlene treasured spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, testing her trivia knowledge watching Jeopardy, summers at Miami Beach in Old Lyme, and vacations cruising the Caribbean.

Surviving are her husband, Eugene J. Morris Jr., retired New Britain firefighter; her daughter, Tracy Morris; her sister, Joan (Eugene) Lamoureux two brothers, Alexander (Lynn) Gavelek, and Dennis (Cathe) Gavelek; two loving grandchildren, Dylan Morris and Devin Morris; many nieces and nephews; and cherished lifelong friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Scott Morris.

A special thank you goes out to her entire care team at the Hospital of Central CT, especially the nurses that lovingly cared for her.

Arlene will be missed, but know she will live in the hearts of all who loved her.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 from 10 AM to 12 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home of Berlin, 111 Chamberlain Hwy, Berlin.  Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain.
