Beatrice “Bea” (Hiltpold) Lennehan of Berlin passed away in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family on Sunday August 25, 2024 at the age of 85.
Bea was born in Queens, New York and later moved to Berlin, where she attended Berlin High School and graduated with the Class of 1956. Bea worked as an LPN at New Britain General Hospital and later as a nurse at a nursing home. She was passionate about her volunteer work with the Meals on Wheels program for many years.
As a lover of all sports, Bea was active in the local Special Olympics and the Berlin Little League. She also enjoyed bowling and skiing. Bea was a huge Red Sox fan visiting the “Green Monster” often throughout her life.
Bea is survived by her son Douglas Lennehan of Kensington, daughter Sharon (Lennehan) Cacciola and her husband Gerry Cacciola of Cobleskill, NY. Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren: Kyle, Ariana, David, Michael, Alyssa, Kevin, Colleen, Brian, Meghan, Shanna, Caitlyn, Connor, Colin; three great-grandchildren; her niece Heather Kalin of Bristol; and several more nieces & nephews. She was preceeded in death by her husband Robert Lennehan and sons Gerald “Jerry” Lennehan & Robert Lennehan.
Bea had a gregarious personality and enjoyed cooking and entertaining her friends and family. When she wasn’t exploring the tropical islands with her husband Robert, she was floating in the pool or enjoying a day at the beach. She always found peace and joy when near the water.
As the life of the party, her presence will be missed by so many.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2024 from 10 AM to 12 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home of Berlin, 111 Chamberlain Hwy., Berlin.
