Carl Pavano of Berlin passed away on August 26, 2025, surrounded by loved ones after a year of declining health. He was born in New Britain on December 3, 1942, to Thomas and Grace (Cavelli) Pavano. He grew up in New Britain and dedicated 30 years of service to Stanley Works where he met his wife, Marty. Carl is survived by his wife Marty; children Terry Segar (Craig), Joey, Tommy (Sue), Bobby, and Frank; granddaughters Sarah, Brittany, Jennifer, Maria, Violet; grandsons Michael, Richard and Anthony; several great-grandchildren; his beloved recliner and dog Barkley. He was predeceased by his parents, sister Theresa, and brother Frank.
Carl and Marty shared 40 years of marriage. He regularly enjoyed his wife's pasta sauce and meatballs, spending time with family and playing cards with laughter and accusations of cheating. He also brought joy to those around him as a bingo caller and through his holiday chocolate cream pies. He was known for his personable nature and made it easy for others to connect with him.
Carl enjoyed his routine of morning toast and coffee at a restaurant as well as his afternoon naps in the recliner with Barkley. Over the past year he swore he would not undergo kidney dialysis. And as it turns out, he was a man of his word. He is loved, remembered fondly and missed by both family and friends.
A funeral mass will be held at Saint Josephine Bakhita Church, 767 Elm Street, Rocky Hill, CT, on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., with a gathering to follow. Burial will be private.
