Carmen A. Urso

Carmen A. Urso, 85, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2022. He was born on October 15, 1936 in New Britain, CT. Carmen was a graduate of New Britain High School. He served in Korea as a member of The United States Army and worked as a planner for the Connecticut State Department of Transportation. He was the owner and operator of Mr. Carmen’s Coiffeur’s in New Britain. Throughout the years, Carmen enjoyed his membership in multiple service clubs including the Varpas Club of New Britain, The Berlin Knights of Columbus, and The Italian Political Independent Club of Kensington. He was involved in his community and volunteered his time coaching Berlin Youth League Baseball, supporting Berlin High School Athletic Boosters, and as Scout Master. Carmen loved being social and staying active and did so by participating in softball, bowling, and golf leagues. He was the Red Sox baseball team’s biggest fan. His hearty laugh and brilliant smile will be missed by friends and family from their homes in CT and Naples, FL alike. He was kind and always the life of the party. Many decades later, his former players still remember their baseball coach fondly.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elizabeth Urso; sons, Christopher and his partner Diane Hayden, Salvatore and his partner JoAnn Angelico-Stetson, Rocco and his wife Jamie; grandchildren, Brooke, Cole, Casey, Nina, Carly, Gabriella, and Nicholas, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
