Carolyn M. Carlino

Carolyn M. Carlino, 72, of Berlin, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, surrounded by the family she loved so deeply. She was the beloved wife of Patrick Carlino.

Carolyn was originally from Pelham, New York and moved to Berlin, Connecticut in 1986. She spent many years working as a clinical office assistant at UConn Health, where she was known for her kindness, dedication, and gentle presence.

Carolyn found joy in life’s simple and meaningful moments. She loved gardening and took great pride in caring for her plants. She also enjoyed bird watching and lovingly feeding the wildlife in her backyard, where turkeys and other critters were familiar and welcome visitors. After retiring, her greatest joy came from caring for her grandchildren, who knew her as Nana, as many did. She treasured time spent fishing with the children and was an avid New York Yankees fan. She also cherished time at the beach, whether taking quiet solo trips to Harkness to read a good book or spending time on her annual vacation at the Pleasant View Inn.

In addition to her husband, Patrick, she is survived by her sons, Anthony and Carlo, both of Berlin; her daughter-in-law, Erica; her beloved grandchildren, Nico and Marco; her sister, Holly Macri, and her husband, Jimmy, of Pennsylvania; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was predeceased by her father and brother Henry and Richard Stevens.

Carolyn will be remembered for her warmth, her quiet strength, the love she gave so freely, and her selfless devotion to her family and those she loved. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
