Concetta (Gallitto) Fraello, age 88, of Berlin, widow of Cesario Fraello, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2026 with her loving family by her side. Concetta was born on July 11, 1938, in Sortino, Province of Siracusa, Sicily, Italy, to the late Giuseppe Gallitto and Vincenza (Briganti) Gallitto.
On December 28, 1957, Concetta married her love, Cesario Fraello. Together, they began their life in Sortino, Italy before immigrating with their family in 1967 to New Britain, and eventually settling in Berlin in 2000.
Concetta was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and her family was the greatest love and joy of her life. She especially cherished having her family gathered around the table, whether celebrating a special occasion or simply sipping coffee together. She was an exceptional cook and baker, and everyone who knew her looked forward to the delicious dishes and sweet treats that came from her kitchen. For Concetta, cooking was about so much more than preparing a meal - it was one of the many ways she expressed her love. She also found joy in crocheting beautiful blankets, children's dresses, and tablecloths, often creating something special with her own hands for someone she loved. Most of all, Concetta will be remembered for the love she gave so freely to her family—a love woven into the traditions she embraced and passed down through the generations.
She is survived and will be deeply missed by her sons, Sebastian and his wife, Antonietta (Campagna) of Berlin; Joseph and his partner, Christine (Oliva) of Cromwell; Mark and his wife, Karla (Clawson) of North Carolina; and her daughter, Jessie Fraello of Berlin; her grandchildren, Danielle Fraello (Brett Garmon), David Fraello, Valerie Fraello, William Fraello (Colleen McCarthy), Anthony Fraello (JD Swiger), and John Fraello; and her great-grandchildren, Reece, Cay, and Lyda Garmon; Camryn and Kylie Fraello; and Lily and Luca Swiger-Fraello; as well as many family in Italy.
Besides her beloved husband, Cesario, Concetta was predeceased by her mother, Vincenza (Briganti) Gallitto; her father, Giuseppe Gallitto; and her sisters, Teresa Gallitto and Vincenza (Gallitto) Giampapa.
Concetta's family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of The Regency House for the wonderful care, kindness, and compassion they provided to Concetta and her family during her time there. Their support and care will always be remembered.
The visitation will be private. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Paul Church, 467 Alling Street, Kensington, on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at 11:30 a.m., immediately followed with burial at St. Mary Cemetery in New Britain, CT.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks donations be made in Concetta’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105), a cause especially close to her heart, reflecting her deep love for children.
