David John Albert of Berlin, CT passed away peacefully at home on June 19, 2026 after a long illness. He was born in New Britain, CT on February 4, 1949. David was predeceased by his parents, Emil Albert Sr. and Margaret Ford Albert and his siblings, Margaret Post, Emil Albert Jr. and Dorothy Meyer. He is survived by his wife, Susan Albert; son, David Albert; daughter, Mandy Gryzb; granddaughters, Ava Albert and Miranda Gryzb; grandson, Miles Gryzb; siblings, Robert and Jeanie Albert, and Linda and Philip Sengle; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Dave wanted us to mention his good friends, Richard Squires and Mark and Jen Akehurst who helped him immensely over his years of declining health.

David grew up in the Kensington section of Berlin, graduating from Berlin High School in 1967 having played on their 1963 undefeated football team. David also attended Central Connecticut State University. He then moved to New Britain for a short time before serving in the Navy, moving back to Kensington as a proud veteran upon discharge. David served on the USS Intrepid, an aircraft carrier, now a museum in NYC which David visited. He achieved the rank of Petty Officer 3rd Class. David subsequently found a position at Conn. Natural Gas from which he retired after a long career.

He was a member of the Italian Political Independent Club and the Spartan Veterans Athletic Club both of Berlin.
