David James Crandall born September 25, 1950 in New Britain, CT died peacefully on April 28, 2024. He was a resident of Southington, CT and is survived by his loving wife Sharon Crandall; his children Carrie Taylor-Gualtieri; son in law Dominick Gualtieri; Jill Crandall White and son in law Joseph White. He had five grandchildren that he loved with all his heart- Emily and David Taylor, Dominick Gualtieri, and Audrey and Mia White. He is also survived by his sister Cheryl Steciak and her husband Robert; his cousin Mark Myska who was like a brother to him, and his best friend Daniel Wantek. David was proud to say he started as a registered nurse at New Britain General Hospital, then as a Quality Assurance Manager at Middlesex Hospital and then as Vice President at Hospital For Special Care where he later became CEO and Co-President of the hospital. He was a visionary and a leader and he left a lasting legacy behind during his time there that he was extremely proud of. David enjoyed rides to the beach with his beautiful wife, vacations with family, buying a new sports car every few months, the song Red Rubber Ball, and sneaking ice cream runs for his grandchildren and himself. He loved going to the movie theater where he was not known for his ability to whisper during the movie. He always said his dream job would be a landscaper, because he felt most at peace when working outside. David was generous and loving and always happy to help those in need with advice, encouragement and any help he could afford. He always made time to let his family know they were loved and that he was proud of them. He will be missed dearly. There will be no services. Donations can be made in David's name to The Connecticut Foodshare at Ctfoodshare.org
