Donald A. Sasek Sr.

Donald A. Sasek Sr., longtime resident of Kensington, CT passed away peacefully on 1/26/2024 at the age of 96.  He was the beloved husband of Virginia L Sasek for 67 years prior to her passing in 2022.  He graduated from Plainville High School and continued his education at both Worcester Polytechnic Institute, earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering as well as a Master’s Degree in Finance from the University of Hartford.

He proudly served in the United States Army during the occupation of South Korea after WWII.

Donald worked at Stanley Works in New Britain followed by 30 years of employment at Pratt and Whitney in East Hartford.

He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching and attending UConn basketball and football games.  He loved spending vacations with his family on Cape Cod.  One of his talents was woodworking as well as the collection and refurbishing of antiques.

He is survived by his daughter Cheryl Sasek, his son Donald Sasek Jr. and his wife Char, and his daughter Jerilyn Allen MD, her husband Todd and his grandchildren Brendan and Mackenzie Allen.

Arrangements are being handled by Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home of Berlin.  Funeral and burial services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Paul’s School in Kensington.
