Edward R. Arbour

Edward R. Arbour, 93, formerly of Berlin, passed away peacefully on Friday, Oct. 4, 2024 in Fernandina Beach, FL.  He was the husband of the late Genevieve (Lemanski) Arbour.

Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late Luis and Marie (Henry) Arbour.  Ed was a Berlin resident most of his life and was formerly employed at New Britain Machine, Stanley Works and Corbin Russwin before retiring.  He was a former member of St. Paul Church, the Berlin Lions Club, Elks Lodge, the Spartans, and the Moose Lodge for over 40 years. Ed was in the Army during the Korean war stationed in Germany. He donated time to the Meals on Wheels organization. He loved gardening and shared the fruits of his garden with everyone he knew! His favorite hobby was golfing.

Surviving are three children, Lawrence Arbour and his wife Georgene, Kathryn Arbour and her partner William Casner, Carol Calvo and her husband Salvatore; six grandchildren, Leah Arbour and her partner Elliot Mitchell , Phoebe Arbour and fiancé Matt Mulrey, Kyle Krukowski, Jamie Calvo and his fiancé Taylor Dudics, Nicholas Calvo and his wife Molly, and Salvatore Calvo III; and his 6 great-grandchildren; Brooke, Fay, Aubrey, Camden, Ryan and Avalynn.  He was predeceased by a brother, Amie Arbour and a sister, Jeanette Van Beaver.

A calling hour will be held on Monday, Oct. 14, 2024 from 9 AM to 10 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home of Berlin, 111 Chamberlain Hwy., Berlin followed by a funeral service at 10 AM.  Burial will be in South Burying Ground, Kensington.
