Eleanor Marie (Golas) Reed

Eleanor Marie (Golas) Reed, 69, of Kensington, widow of Preston L. Reed, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning (October 3, 2017) at home with her children, granddaughter, and great-granddaughter at her side. Born in New Britain, daughter of the late Stanley and the late Henrietta (Sulkowski) Golas, she graduated from New Britain High School, lived in Newington before moving to Kensington, and was employed at EDAC Technologies. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church in New Britain, and her life was her family, gardening, and taking care of others. She is survived by a daughter, Kelly Mangiofico of Berlin, two sons, Michael Shine of Berlin, and James Reed of Enfield, a brother, Michael Golas, a sister, Carol Rzeplinski, a granddaughter, and great-grandchildren. A celebration of her life will be held at The Pine Loft, 1474 Berlin Turnpike, Berlin, on Sunday, October 29, from 1-5pm. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
