Emilio Antonio Vallera

SOUTHINGTON - Emilio Antonio Vallera, 82, of Southington, loving husband of Lidia Maria (Rizza) Vallera, died Saturday afternoon (December 20, 2014) at Masonicare in Wallingford. Born in Italy, son of the late Salvatore and the late Anna (Santilli) Vallera, he was employed at Standard Structural Steel until his retirement, and was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Meriden. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Monique Vallera of Southington, two daughters and a son-in-law, Theresa Vallera of Southington, and Christina and Neal Toti of North Haven, a brother and sister-in-law, Louis and Elena Vallera in California, a sister and brother-in-law, Lucia and Giuseppe Giovannucci in California, three grandchildren, Jacob and Joshua Vallera, and Giuliana Toti, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Marino Vallera, and two sisters, Leonilde Lefante and Rina Alleva. Funeral services will be held Tuesday (December 23, 2014) at 10am from Porter's Funeral Home, 111 Chamberlain Highway in Kensington, with a Funeral Liturgy at 11am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Meriden. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Meriden. Friends and relatives are invited to call at the funeral home on Tuesday (December 23, 2014) from 8:30am until the departure to church.
