Giuseppe Campisi

Giuseppe Campisi, 80, of Berlin, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 31, 2025, at Hartford Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

He was the devoted husband of Tina (Italia) Campisi, with whom he shared 55 wonderful years of marriage. Together they built a life rooted in love, family, and tradition. Giuseppe was a proud and loving father to his daughter Patti and her husband David Burgio, and a devoted Nonno to his cherished grandchildren Martina and Anthony Burgio, who were the heart of his world and his greatest blessing.

Born on February 15, 1945, in Solarino, Italy, Giuseppe was the youngest of six children and the son of the late Luciano and Concetta (Pizzo) Campisi. In 1967, he came to the United States in search of a better life, bringing with him a strong work ethic and a heart full of hope. He retired from Emhart, where he worked for many years. In 2016, he proudly fulfilled a lifelong dream by becoming a United States citizen, a moment he earned through dedication and one that filled him with tremendous pride.

An avid gardener, Giuseppe found joy in tending to his tomato plants, lemon tree, and fig trees. His backyard was his pride and a place of peace where he shared the fruits of his labor with those he loved most.

Giuseppe was predeceased by his brothers Simone and Paolo Campisi, his sister Carmela Germano and her husband Salvatore, his brother in law Salvatore Melluzzo, his niece Rosie Campisi, his sister in law Maria Rosa Rossitto, and his father in law Salvatore Italia.

He is survived by his loving wife Tina of Berlin, his daughter and son in law Patti and David Burgio of Berlin, his grandchildren Martina and Anthony Burgio also of Berlin, his sister Rosa Melluzzo of Avon, his brother and sister in law Vincenzo and Lina Campisi of Southington, his sisters in law Concetta Campisi of Berlin and Pina Campisi of Port Charlotte, Florida, his brother in law and sister in law Giuseppe and Anna Rossitto of Palermo, Italy, and his dear mother in law Antonina Italia of Rocky Hill, where he and Tina devoted each day to caring for her and feeding her lunch at Maple View Health, a true expression of their love and devotion.

He is also survived by many dear friends who brought him so much joy, along with several nieces, nephews, and godchildren whom he loved dearly and spoke of with great pride. He shared a special closeness with many of them, especially his nephew/godson Sandro Rossitto and his wife Jessica, with whom he shared countless holidays, laughter, and memories that brought him great joy throughout his life.

Our family extends our heartfelt thank you to the EMTs and the Emergency Department team at Hartford Hospital for their compassion and care during a time of unimaginable loss.
