Henry Robert Mailhot

Henry Robert Mailhot, 78, of Berlin, husband of JoAnn Mailhot for 54 years, passed away on Monday, Aug. 5, 2024 at Hartford Hospital, surrounded by his family.

Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late Robert and Marie (Conti) Mailhot.  Henry was a former New Britain and Southington resident before moving to Berlin 51 years ago.  He was employed for over 40 years at Heating Oil Partners (fka Savin Fuel and Automatic TLC), before retiring.  Henry held licenses with CT Plumbing & Pipe Contractors, CT Heating Piping and Cooling Contractors, CT Sheet Metal Contractors, and CT Fire Protection Contractors.

Henry was a member of St. Paul Church, the VA, National Rifle Association, VFW, GTO Association, Moose Lodge, Mattabassett Gun Club and Oil Energy Service Providers.  He served on the Board of Directors at Entech School, where he was the longest standing volunteer and taught students and gave seminars.  He also worked with testing of Bioheat at the school.  Henry was an avid NY Yankee fan and loved his bowling league nights.

Surviving are his wife, Joann (Mallia) Mailhot; three children, Michelle (Glenn) Holt, Susan White, and Carin Roybal (Thomas); four siblings, Virginia “Ginger” Lastrina, Rene Mailhot, Kim Mailhot, and Kip Mailhot; three grandchildren, Lia Roybal, Taylor Begun, and Ashley Holt; and several nieces and nephews.  He is predeceased by his best friend Mike Bakaysa.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Aug. 9, 2024 at 9 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home of Berlin, 111 Chamberlain Hwy., Berlin, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Paul Church.  Burial with military honors will be in St. Mary Cemetery.  Calling hours are Thursday from 4-7 PM at the funeral home.  Memorial donations may be made to Entech Advanced Training, 10 Alcop Ridge, Cromwell, CT 06416 and the Susan G.
