Janet (Hobbs) Huston

AVON - Janet (Hobbs) Huston, 80, of Avon, widow of Sylvester Porter Huston, died Monday (January 27, 2014) at Apple Rehab. Born in Portland, Maine, the daughter of the late Albert and the late Mildred (Robinson) Hobbs, she received a degree in nursing from the University of Maine, and was employed as a registered nurse for 30 years and then retired from Connecticut Blue Cross. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints in Bloomfield. She is survived by two sons and three daughters-in-law, David and Andrea Huston of Hamden, Douglas and Carol Huston of Aloha, Oregon, and Peggy Huston of Menan, Idaho, a daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Thomas Haines of Berlin, five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held Friday (January 31, 2014) at 12noon in Maple Cemetery on Worthington Ridge, Berlin. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
