Jean Frances (McHale) Munson of Kensington, CT, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 28, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and friends.
She was predeceased by her first husband, John Ernest O’Connell (1984), and her second husband, Walter “Skip” Munson (2025). She carried both seasons of her life with strength, love, and enduring faith.
A devoted follower of Jesus Christ, Jean loved her Savior deeply and was never hesitant to share the Good News with others. Her faith shaped the way she lived—steadfast, generous, devoted to prayer, and hopeful.
She found joy in the simple beauty of God’s creation: flowers blooming in the garden, birds gathering at the feeder, and fresh vegetables brought from garden to table. She enjoyed gathering people together to pray, sing, and play guitar, travel the world, offer book recommendations from her collection, enjoy game nights, and eat scrumptious meals together at her favorite restaurants.
Most of all, she treasured her family.
Jean leaves behind her four daughters, who continue to band together in love: Lynn-Ann DeLima and her husband Tony; Karen Juchniewicz and her husband Vincent; Elaine Fargo; and Colleen Kim and her husband Albert. She leaves behind her grandchildren Jonathan, Hannah, Laura, Rebekah, Allie, Emily, Andrew and Aaron. She also leaves behind her cherished great-grandchildren Alanna, Ashton, and Finley.
A service celebrating her life will be held at Kensington Congregational Church on March 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. with a reception to follow.
The family suggests that donations be made to the charity of your choice, and that you take a quiet moment to notice the beauty of nature and give thanks for a life well lived.
