Josephine (Alcina) Lass

NEWINGTON - Josephine (Alcina) Lass, 93, of Newington, formerly of Kensington for many years, widow of George Charles Lass, died Friday (July 10, 2015) at The Hospital of Central Connecticut, New Britain. Born in Bristol, daughter of the late Salvador Alcina Sr. and the late Josephine (Banules) Alcina, she graduated from New Britain High School, and was a dental assistant for Dr. William Coscina until she retired. She was a member of St. Paul Church, and loved to travel, visiting Mexico, California, South America, and Spain. She is survived by a two sons and a daughter-in-law, David and Carol Lass of Rocky Hill, and Robert Lass of Meriden, two grandsons, Michael Lass of Round Hill, Virginia, and Jonathan Lass of New Britain, and two great-grandchildren, Katarina and Eric Lass of Round Hill, Virginia. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, Salvador Alcina Jr. and Edward Alcina. Funeral services will be held Friday (July 17, 2015) at 11am from Porter's Funeral Home, 111 Chamberlain Highway, Berlin, followed by a Funeral Liturgy at 11:30am at St. Paul Church on Alling Street. Burial will be in Maple Cemetery, Berlin. Friends and relatives are invited to call at the funeral home Friday (July 17, 2015) from 10am until the departure to church.
