Josephine (Frazzetta) Lupia

With heavy hearts and deep love we announce the passing of Josephine (Frazetta) Lupia who passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on July 28, 2025.

Born on November 15, 1933 in New Britain, Connecticut, Josephine was the treasured daughter of Carmello and Josephine Frazzetta, whose roots began in Sicily, Italy.  From an early age, her life was shaped by strong values, deep faith, and a devotion to family that never wavered.

She married her best friend Felice, and together they built a life in Berlin, Connecticut.  Their marriage was a partnership rooted in respect and enduring affection.  She and Felice were active members of the Berlin Lions Club and the Knights of Columbus Women's Auxiliary.  For over five decades, she worked beside him as the office administrator of Lupia Renovating Company.

Known for her legendary Italian cooking, she enjoyed hosting dinner parties at their beach house in Clinton.  A lifelong Boston Red Sox and UConn basketball fan, she cheered with passion and pride.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband Felice, with whom she shared 54 cherished years, and by her son, Anthony L. Lupia.  She also joins her siblings Joseph, Samuel, and Johnny Frazetta and sister Mary Barone in eternal rest.

Josephine leaves behind many beloved relatives and friends in both the United States and Italy.  She is survived by her devoted daughter, Mary Lupia Dzen, and son-in-law, Frank W. Dzen, of South Windsor, Connecticut; her two grandchildren Felice Lupia and Amanda Christina Dzen; along with her granddogs, Khloe Bear and Luke.

Her legacy is one of love, generosity, and grace.  A life beautifully lived and a soul that will be missed beyond measure.
