Juana E. Ramirez, 76, of Berlin, passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Ledgecrest Healthcare Center.
Born in Havana, Cuba, she was the daughter of the late Armando and Evelia (Abad) Verdugo. Juana was a former resident of Hartford, Berlin and Cromwell. She was employed at Aetna for 30 years as an underwriter and coach before retiring. She was a member of St. Paul Church in Kensington and a former member of Our Lady of Sorrows in Hartford.
Surviving are a son, Luis (Laura) Ramirez; two daughters, Lissette (Gregory) Bellody and Alexis (Matthew) King; and six grandchildren, Emma Bellody and her fiance Ronak Mistry, Olivia Bellody, Rose Bellody, Cooper Ramirez, Grace Ramirez, and Hunter King, as well as longtime friend, Charlie Virone.
Juana enjoyed life to the fullest! She loved to travel. One of her favorite places to visit was Florida, where she spent time with cousins and extended family and had some of her earliest friendships and adventures. Juana dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren and her love was always felt with friends and family.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 9 from 5-7 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home of Berlin, 111 Chamberlain Hwy, Berlin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11:30 AM at St. Paul Church. Burial will be in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Connecticut Chapter.
