Kelvin Flores Benitez

Life does not prepare a mother and father to see their child leave this world, nor does it prepare a family to lose someone they love so deeply. The loss of Kelvin Omar Flores Benitez, at only 23 years old, has left an unimaginable pain in the hearts of everyone who loved and knew him.

Kelvin was a young man with his whole life ahead of him, filled with dreams, plans, and hopes for a successful future. His life was centered around the people he loved. His sisters, cousins, uncles, aunts, and friends were not simply part of his life; they were his world. Kelvin found happiness in being surrounded by family, making memories, laughing, dancing, and enjoying the people closest to him.

He was a pure and beautiful soul; humble, kind, respectful, loving, and always willing to share that love with others. He was a healthy and athletic young man who was following the right path and growing in his relationship with the Lord. At 23, Kelvin had so much more life to live and so many dreams still waiting for him.

Kelvin’s life was tragically taken following a hit-and-run motorcycle accident on Sept 23rd. His family continues to mourn a life taken far too soon while trusting that justice will take its course.

Although Kelvin is no longer physically with us, the happiness he gave us will remain. His songs, the family videos of him dancing and enjoying life, his photographs, his smile, his laughter, and the countless memories we shared with him will live forever in our hearts. Those memories are now treasures that no one can take away.

Kelvin will be deeply and forever missed by his mother, Elizabeth Benitez; his father, Denis Omar Flores; his stepparents, Junior and Yarinece; his sisters, Yarielis and Yelianis; his grandfather, Berto; his uncles, Alba, Bertito, Samuel, Adam, and Heriberto; his 38 cousins, aunts, and friends who became family.

To know Kelvin was to know how much family meant to him. His time with us was far too short, but the love he gave during those 23 years will remain with us for the rest of our lives.

Kelvin, you were loved beyond words, and you will be missed beyond measure. Your life, your joy, and your love will remain forever in our hearts. May you rest peacefully in the arms of the Lord until we meet again. Grandma's and loved ones are in heaven expecting you.

Calling Hours and funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2026 from 9 AM to 11 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home of Berlin, 111 Chamberlain Hwy., Berlin. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, New Britain. Calling hours are Wednesday from 6 PM to 8 PM at the funeral home.
