Lillian Ida (Maino) D'Amato

EAST BERLIN - Lillian Ida (Maino) D'Amato, 90, of East Berlin, loving wife of Fiore "Sam" D'Amato for 66 years, died Tuesday (March 10, 2015) with her family at her side. Born in Berlin, daughter of the late Rico and the late Ida (Occhi) Maino, she was a member of Sacred Heart Church in East Berlin, and loved cooking for her family, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Mary D'Amato, a daughter and son-in-law, Pat and George Young, a brother and sister-in-law, Henry and Liz Maino, a sister, Ruth Petrossi, all of Berlin, four grandchildren, Michael D'Amato and his longtime friend Catherine, Jenna D'Amato, Erin Shea and her husband Tim, and Matthew Young and his wife Jamie, a great-grandson, Timmy Shea, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Friday (March 13, 2015) at 10am from Porter's Funeral Home, 111 Chamberlain Highway, Kensington, with a Funeral Liturgy at 10:30am at Sacred Heart Church, 66 Cottage Street, East Berlin. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, New Britain. Friends and relatives are invited to call at the funeral home on Friday morning (March 13, 2015) from 9-10am.
