Marc David “Nick” Nicolini, 73, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at the Hospital of Central Connecticut. Marc was born in New Britain, CT on September 21, 1950. He was the son of the late Reno and Kathryn (Manno) Nicolini. He graduated from New Britain High School, class of 68. Marc was the owner of Reno’s Cafe on Pleasant Street in New Britain for many years. Reno’s Cafe became a neighborhood cafe and a favorite spot for friends to gather.
Marc is survived and will be greatly missed by his sisters, Gloria Lagosz and Donna Sgro, nieces Jenifer Chmura, Marlo Lagosz and her fiancé Bryson Burse, Kiana McDavid, and Adalynn Burse, a special family friend Brody Burse, his cousins and many friends. Marc was predeceased by his favorite aunt, Jennie Manno, and his brother-in-laws, Walter Lagosz and Nick Sgro.
Our family would like to thank the entire staff at Southington Care Center for their superb care and for helping to make it Marc’s home away from home. We would also like to lovingly acknowledge Marc’s close friends, Fred Monsees, Bobby Gordon, Carol Fitzsimmons and Leona Diemesevich for their steadfast dedication to visiting Marc and continuing to make him a part of their lives.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann Church, 101 North St., New Britain. Burial will follow in Maple Cemetery, Berlin. In lieu of flowers and because of Marc’s love of animals, donations may be made in his name to: The Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Road, Newington, CT 06111.
