Margaret (Vergnano) Mascola

Margaret "Peggy" (Vergnano) Mascola, 93, of Kensington, widow of Andrew F. Mascola, passed away peacefully Tuesday (November 28, 2017) at home. Born in West Hartford, daughter of the late Angelo and the late Columba (Mazanti) Vergnano, she attended Hall High School in West Hartford, and was an assistant cosmetics manager at J.C. Penney until her retirement. She was a member of St. Paul's Church, and had a passion for cooking and fashion. She is survived by a brother-in-law, Fred Mascola of Old Saybrook, a sister-in-law, Rosemarie Simone of Old Saybrook, four nephews, Jeffrey Chandler of Farmington, Todd Niedzwiedz of Farmington, Mark Vergnano and his wife Betsy of West Chester, Pennsylvania, and Keith Vergnano of New Britain, two nieces, Paula D'Annello of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, and Cheryl Gidman of Newport Beach, California, and several great-nephews and great-nieces.. Funeral services will be held Friday (December 1, 2017) at 10am from Porter's Funeral Home, 111 Chamberlain Highway in Kensington, followed by a Funeral Liturgy at 11:30am at St. Paul Church on Alling Street. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Friends and relatives are invited to call at the funeral home on Friday (December 1, 2017) from 10-11am.
