Maria Angela (Fuschino) Verrillo

Maria (Fuschino) Verrillo, age 73, of Kensington, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Hartford Hospital after a courageous battle with an extended illness. The youngest daughter of the late Filippo and Elvira Fuschino who greeted her in heaven, she was born on March 12, 1943 in Telese, Italy. She was a proud homemaker and resident of Kensington. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and dear friends. She was a wonderful cook and really loved to bake. The homemade Italian cookies she made with love provided great enjoyment for family and friends throughout the years, especially at holiday times. She was a member of St. Paul Church. She will be missed dearly and is survived by her devoted husband, Pietro Verrillo of Kensington, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Vincent and Palma Verrillo of Kensington, and Philip Verrillo of Kensington, her brother Angelo Fuschino (husband of her late sister-in-law Elisabetta Fuschino) of Berlin, her sister and brother-in-law Josephine and Stephen Damiano of Southington, nieces and nephews, along with her extended family and her many dearest friends. The family would like to thank the following individuals for the loving and compassionate care provided to her; Dr. Mark Dailey, nurses and staff at the Helen & Harry Gray Cancer Center at Hartford Hospital including the CB2 floor of the Conklin Building, Dr. Martha Wadleigh and staff at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Dr. Letterio Asciuto and staff at General Medical Practice Associates. Friends and family are invited to call at the Porter's Funeral Home 111 Chamberlain Highway, Berlin, on Friday (June 24, 2016), from 9-11am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30am at St. Paul's Church, 467 Alling Street, Kensington. Burial will be in Maple Cemetery, Berlin.
