Mariann (Stifel) Vigilante

MIDDLETOWN - Mariann (Stifel) Vigilante, 54, of Middletown, previously of Berlin for many years, passed away suddenly Sunday. Born in New Britain, daughter of Vilma (Piatek) Stifel and the late John M. Stifel, she graduated from Berlin High School, and was a member of St. Paul's Church. A most extraordinary baker and cook, she was also a talented make-up artist for Jafra Cosmetics, loved to paint and draw, and was an animal and nature lover. In addition to her mother, she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Alaina Roberge of Sterling, three sisters and a brother-in-law, Greta and Karen Stifel of Berlin, and Lisa Stifel and Brian Skupa of Albuquerque, New Mexico, three grandchildren, Thomas and John Roberge, and Angelina Rizzo, several aunts, uncles, and cousins, and her beloved pets, Vienna, Valentino, Coco, and Mango. She was predeceased by her beloved son, Justin Longo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 11am at St. Paul's Church, 467 Alling Street, Kensington. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Friends and relatives are invited to call at Porter's Funeral Home, 111 Chamberlain Highway, Berlin, on Saturday from 8:30-10:30am.
