Mary E. (Bradley) Pera

Mary Pera, wife of Fred Pera for more than six decades, passed away on April 23, 2025. Mary was born in Hartford, CT to the late Samuel and Mary (Sawyer) Bradley. She grew up in Hartford, graduated from Buckley High School in 1957, and eventually moved to Berlin after marrying Fred in 1964. She worked for many years in the Berlin Public Schools and took great pride in the lasting relationships she developed with her special students. Her calm, gentle spirit and honest, unpretentious ways endeared her to many. She navigated life with both grace and quiet strength.  Her family, which is where she found the most joy in life, would like to thank the 4th Floor C Wing team at the Hospital of Central Connecticut for the loving care they provided.

In addition to her husband, she will be missed by her children, Kathleen Friday and husband Howard, Joseph Pera and wife Jill, and Kenneth Pera and wife Renata, as well as her grandchildren, Ashley Ralph and husband Brandon, William Friday, Saul Pera, Stefanie Pera, and William Pera, and her great-grandchildren, Henry and Charlie Ralph.  She also leaves behind her sister-in-law, Shamiram George, her niece and nephews and their families, dear friend Rita Szymanoski and her Wednesday morning crew, and brother James Bradley. She was predeceased by her sister Nancy Bartone, and brother-in-laws Richard Bartone and Thomas George.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Mary's life at a wake to be held on Friday, May 2, 2025 from 5-7 pm at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home of Berlin, 111 Chamberlain Hwy., Berlin.  She will be honored on May 3, 2025 at St. Paul Church in Kensington with a eulogy at 11:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial.  Donations can be made in Mary's name to the Berlin Food Bank, 240 Kensington Rd., #123, Berlin, CT 06037, an organization that was close to her heart.
