Maryann C. Polumbo

Maryann Carole (Zaleski) Polumbo, 71, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 31, 2026.

Mary was born on March 8, 1955 to John and Jeanne (Riccardi) Zaleski in Elizabeth, New Jersey. She was a proud graduate of Girls Catholic High School in 1972 before her family relocated to Coral Gables, Florida where she met her husband Joseph and married him in 1973. Mary graduated from the Gemological Institute of America and relocated to Connecticut. Shortly after, she made Berlin her home for many years before moving to a beach home in Clinton in 2021, which was a longtime dream of hers.

Mary went right into the jewelry business, eventually running her own store, JP Jewelers in Plainville for over 30 years. Jewelry and design were her greatest passions, only second to raising her two daughters. Family was the most important thing to Mary and she was always sure to make that known.

Throughout her years Mary could be found cheering loudly at every sporting event, volunteering at every school event, spending time on the boat and at the beach, gardening, hosting parties, and making friends everywhere she went. She was proud of her upbringing and loved making her great grandmother’s stuffing recipe every Thanksgiving. Mary always put the needs of others before her own and made sure those close to her were well taken care of. Above all, she always seemed to make the everyday moments special to her family.

Mary will be deeply missed by her husband Joe of more than 50 years, her daughter Jackie Stevens and her husband Pat of Berlin, her daughter Krista Polumbo and her husband Jon Imbo of Saratoga Springs, NY, and her grandchildren Kennedy and Hudson Stevens.
