Matthew R. Gagnon

Matthew Raymond Gagnon, 42, of Cromwell, beloved husband of Stephanie Gagnon, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 15, 2025.

Born in Hartford, he was the son of Raymond and Donna (Burn) Gagnon. He brought boundless joy to their lives as a child and passed this gift along to his family. As a student, Matthew excelled, receiving numerous scholastic awards and obtaining high honors at Xavier High School. He was currently employed at Elite Fire Protection and was formerly employed at Mack Fire Protection. Matthew was a member of the Men’s League at Timberlin Golf Course and The PuttHeads Golf League at Southington Country Club. He loved to spend time golfing with his friends and they always had a great time together filled with laughter and camaraderie. He was also an avid New England Patriots Fan. Matthew will be remembered for his kindness, generosity and thoughtfulness toward others.

Most important in Matthew’s life were his children. He always brought fun into their lives and enjoyed camping in the backyard with them every summer as well as playing Chutes and Ladders with Haylee and Legos with Mason. He loved to cook at home with them and his homemade raviolis were their favorite. Matthew was the best “Daddy Caddy” for Mason on the golf course and he was so proud to watch Haylee (his peanut) shine at cheerleading. His family will remember the special memories that were made together in Disney World. He also loved his dog Niko, who will miss his snuggles, turkey bowls and hamburgers.

He is survived by his wife, Stephanie (Farr) Gagnon; two children, Haylee and Mason; his parents, Raymond and Donna Gagnon; a brother, Devin Gagnon; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Thomas and Leslee Farr; and a brother-in-law, Thomas Farr II (Cara). Also surviving are three uncles, David Burn (Roberta), Douglas Burn, and Darren Burn (Rowena); three nephews, Connor, Brayden, and Owen: a niece, Abigail; and several cousins including Sean, Katie, Stefan, Avani Joy, and Alan.
