Michael Joseph Zarotney

Michael Joseph Zarotney, 39, of Berlin, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 5, 2022.

Born in New Britain, he was a lifelong Berlin resident. Michael graduated from Berlin High School and took many classes for certification from the local 478 Operator Union.  He was employed at CWPM in Essex and was a member of St. Paul Church.  Michael loved fishing, spending time at the beach, and warm weather. He also loved motorcycles and old cars; a passion he shared with his father. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and his willingness to always help others.

Surviving are his parents, David and Celeste (Cote) Zarotney; a sister, Katie Bitzarakis and her husband Andreas; a nephew, Andy Bitzarakis; and a niece, Gabby Bitzarakis.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10 AM at St. Paul Church.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family.  Calling hours are Sunday from 4-6 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home of Berlin, 111 Chamberlain Hwy, Kensington .
