Norman Joseph Tonina Sr.

KENSINGTON - Norman Joseph Tonina Sr., 77, of Kensington, loving husband of Patricia (Marcotti) Tonina, died Monday afternoon (June 16, 2014) at Jefferson House in Newington. Born in Bronx, New York, son of the late Jack and the late Ioly (Busnarda) Tonina, he served in the US Army and was employed at Fafnir Bearing Company until his retirement. He dedicated his life to family, food, and travel. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Tara and Clyde Profitt of Newington, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Norman Tonina Jr. and his wife Carin of Seattle, Washington, and Todd Tonina of Hampton, New Hampshire, a step-daughter, Charla LaCoss of Tolland, a step-son, Gregory Gilbert of Tolland, a sister and brother-in-law, Claire and Wilson Morin of Southington, a sister-in-law, Marie Tonina of Middletown, five grandchildren, Andre Profitt, Jack and Frankie Tonina, and Jennifer and Ryan LaCoss, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, James Tonina. A Funeral Liturgy will take place Friday (June 20, 2014) at 10am DIRECTLY AT St. Mary Church, 626 Willard Avenue, Newington. Burial with military honors will follow in Maple Cemetery, Berlin. Friends and relatives may call at Porter's Funeral Home, 111 Chamberlain Highway, Berlin, on Thursday (June 19, 2014) from 6-8pm.
