Reina Berube

Reina Berube, a cherished daughter, devoted mother, loving sister, and loyal friend, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 26, 2025. She was known for her zest for life which could only be matched by her kind heart.

Born on November 12, 1987, she was the beloved daughter of Brian and Donna Berube. Reina was raised and educated in Bristol, graduating from Bristol Eastern High School in 2005. She later pursued her passion at the Brio Academy of Cosmetology, where she laid the foundation for a fulfilling career.

Reina was the proud owner of Hair by Rayna, and most recently worked out of Nauticuts in Bristol. Her guiding philosophy— "Come in as a client, leave as a friend"—was a testament to her ability to make others feel seen, valued, and beautiful, both inside and out.

Above all, Reina found her greatest joy in being a mother. She was endlessly devoted to her daughter, Izabella, with whom she shared a deep love of dance. Reina took immense pride in Bella's accomplishments, most recently her pursuit of higher education at a state university.

Those who knew Reina knew she was the life of the party. Whether DJing, floating in the pool, or enjoying her mother's endless spread of food, she lived life with unmatched joy—and effortlessly inspired others to do the same.

Reina is survived by her parents, Brian and Donna; her sister Michelle and brother-in-law Nicholas DiCicco; sister Leah and brother-in-law Antonio Whitt; and her brother Ryan and sister-in-law Kara Berube. She also leaves behind her cherished nieces and nephews; Natalie, Nathan, Ella, Mila, and Julian.

She was predeceased by her grandfather, Michael McGowan, and is lovingly remembered by her grandmother, Elizabeth Paris; grandparents Robert and Eleanor Berube; her Uncle Mike and Aunt Heather, along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Reina also leaves her devoted fiancé, Ian Kessler, with whom she shared her beloved pets, Bambi and Bruce.

May Reina rest in peace, knowing she made a lasting impact on her family, friends, clients and all whose lives she touched.

Family and friends may gather to honor Reina's life on Thursday, May 1, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home of Berlin, 111 Chamberlain Hwy, Berlin. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow privately.
