Rita J. Paradis, 82, of Kensington, widow of Maurice Paradis, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain.

Born in Centerville, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Marvin Leroy Gardner and Jewel Elouise (Walter) Gardner. Rita attended schools in Iowa and moved to Connecticut in the 1960’s. She was formerly employed at the FBI and later as a Legal Assistant before retiring. Rita enjoyed playing cards, crossword puzzles, and watching the Wheel of Fortune.

Surviving are her son, Aaron Gosselin; a brother, Dennis Gardner; a sister, Von Horel; five grandchildren; and her best friend, Elaine McCarthy. Rita was predeceased by a daughter, Janis Baxter, and by a sister, Linda Witt.

Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home of Berlin is in charge of arrangements.
