Robert Ballard Davis

KENSINGTON - Robert Ballard Davis, 88, of Kensington, loving husband of Lorraine (Torino) Davis, died Tuesday morning (September 2, 2014) with his family at his side. Born in Chicago, Illinois, son of the late Robert Ballard Davis Sr. and the late Margaret T. (Chapman) Davis, he received his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Northwestern University, served in the US Navy in WWII, and retired from Grossite Corporation. He was a member of St. Paul's Church, The Knights of Columbus, and Elks Lodge #1669 in Southington. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Melanie Davis of Newington, a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Jody Williams of Kensington, five grandchildren, Callie and Brynn Williams, and Robert, Michelle, and Allison Davis, and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Tuesday (September 9, 2014) at 10am DIRECTLY at St. Paul's Church, 467 Alling Street, Kensington. Burial with full military honors will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Calling hours are at Porter's Funeral Home, 111 Chamberlain Highway, Berlin, on Monday (September 8, 2014) from 6-8pm.
