Robert C. Russell Sr.

Robert C. Russell Sr., 83, of Kensington, husband of Gerri Russell, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Hartford Hospital.

Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late Albert and Helen (Stair) Russell.  Bob was a U.S. Navy Veteran and was a Kensington resident for 60 years.  He was formerly employed at Connecticut Air Gas before retiring.  Bob was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.  He was a New York Jets and Boston Red Sox fan and enjoyed working on cars and traveling in Europe and the United States.

Surviving are his wife, Gerri (Maguder) Russell; two sons, Robert Russell Jr. and his wife Sheila, and Gary Russell; three grandchildren, Kyle Russell, Kevin Russell, and David Russell; a brother, Richard Russell and his wife Fern; and several nieces and nephews. Robert was predeceased by a sister, Pauline Erling, and by a brother, Albert Russell Jr.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 11 AM to 1 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home of Berlin, 111 Chamberlain Hwy., with a memorial service to be conducted at 12:30 PM.  Military honors will follow the memorial service at the funeral home.
