Rose M. (Cyr) Scalise

Rose M. (Cyr) Scalise, 85, of New Britain, passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at Monsignor Bojnowski Manor in New Britain surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Anthony E. Scalise Sr.

Born in Frenchville, ME, she was the daughter of the late Ivan and Alma (Paradis) Cyr. Rose was a New Britain resident most of her life. She was formerly employed at Stop & Shop and later worked at Stanley Works before retiring. Rose was a member of the New Britain Senior Center and St. Joseph Church where she loved to volunteer.

Surviving are three children, Deborah Probulis of Bristol, Keith Scalise and his wife Elizabeth of Newington, Robert Scalise and his wife Lisa of Avon; three sisters, Theresa LaCourse, Claire Pelletier, and Beatrice Ouellette; three brothers, James Cyr and wife Mae Rita, Paul Cyr and wife Kathy, Fred Cyr and wife Millie; five grandchildren, Nicole Valenti, Charles Probulis III, Anthony Scalise, Tyler Scalise, and Olivia Scalise; two great-grandchildren, Theodore and Camden Valenti; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Rose was predeceased by her brother Ivan Cyr Jr, sister Patricia Cyr, sons Anthony and Richard Scalise, and son-in-law Charles Probulis Jr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 10 AM at St. Ann Church, 47 Clark Street, New Britain. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Calling hours are Saturday, June 29, 2024, from 8 AM to 9:30 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home of Berlin, 111 Chamberlain Hwy, Berlin.
