Roseline “Rose” Dudgeon, 66, of New Britain, beloved wife of Jim Dudgeon, passed away on Friday, Oct. 18, 2024 surrounded by her loving family at the Hospital of Central CT.
Born in Quebec, Canada, she was the daughter of France Richard and Marie Jeanne (Fougere) Richard. Rose was a former East Hartford resident before moving to New Britain in 1983. After high school, Rose enlisted in the U.S. Navy where she met her husband, Jim. They were married while in the Navy and were together for 45 years. She was formerly employed at the Travelers, Aetna, and the Hartford, before retiring. Rose enjoyed swimming, reading, cooking and cooking shows, UCONN Women’s Basketball, and the Boston Red Sox. She loved spending time with her family and especially attending the annual reunion with her Canadian cousins.
Surviving are her husband, James “Jim” Dudgeon; two sons, Jason Dudgeon and James Dudgeon; her loving grandson, Jackson Dudgeon; a brother, David Richard, two sisters, Nicole (Charlie) Cangemi and Donna O’Brien; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Roux and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, Bernard Richard, and by a sister, Diane Blain.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Oct. 27, 2024 from 2-4 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home of Berlin, 111 Chamberlain Hwy., Berlin. Entombment will be held privately at the State Veterans Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
