Ruth (Joe) Hollimon

Ruth Hollimon, loving sister, wife, mother, and grandmother passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 5th 2024 surrounded by her family.

Born in Suffolk, VA to Julius and Cora Joe, Ruth made her home in New Britain, CT where she was a faithful servant of Jehovah for over 50 years.

Predeceased by William “Willie” Hollimon, her husband of over 50 years, her beloved grandson Corey Pope, and her dear sister Ella Brown, Ruth was the youngest of 12 chlldren - eight sisters: Alfreda Joe, Anna Jordan, Katie Brown, Georgia Coker, Goldie Barnett, Cora Borden, Bertha Blackwell, and Hattie Dupree; and three brothers: Son Rowe, Richard Joe, and Juney Joe all of whom she loved dearly.

Ruth is survived by her daughters, Leslie Gail Pope and Janice M. Ferguson, granddaughters Shannon M. Pope, Alexis D. Ferguson, and Eboni S. Pope, and a HOST of nieces, nephews, and special friends who will miss her warmth, love, and all around big, beautiful smile tremendously.

A memorial service will take place on Monday, June 10, 2024 at 6 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home of Berlin, 111 Chamberlain Hwy, Berlin, CT.
