Ruth A. Smith Rich

BERLIN - Ruth A. (Smith) Rich, 92, of Berlin, widow of Franklin Donald Rich, died peacefully on Tuesday (September 30, 2014) at The Hospital of Central Connecticut, New Britain, surrounded by her family. Born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Walter and the late Maude (Deets) Smith, she was employed at Northeast Utilities until her retirement, and was a member of Kensington Congregational Church. She is survived by two sisters-in-law, Marie Rich of New Britain, and Clara Jean Smith of Berwick, Pennsylvania, and several nieces and a nephew including Louise Rich-Fiondella and her husband Stephen of North Haven, and Sharon Stoddard and her husband Frederick of New Britain, and several great-nieces and great nephews. A funeral service will be held Monday morning (October 6, 2014) at 11am at Kensington Congregational Church. Burial will be Tuesday (October 7, 2014) afternoon in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Wilkes-Barre, Pensylvania. Friends and relatives are invited to call at Porter's Funeral Home, 111 Chamberlain Hwy. in Kensington on Friday (October 3, 2014) from 5-7pm.
