Sandra Johnson Quarello, 89, of Kensington, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert Quarello.
Sandra was born in New Britain to the late Adolph and Signe (Peterson) Johnson. Sandra retired as a head communications operator in the Message Center at the CT State Police Headquarters. She was a former member of First Lutheran Church in New Britain, a member of the Hartford Chapter of the Swedish Junior League, and a 34 year member of the Kensington Garden Club. She was known for her delicious cooking especially her creative desserts. No one ever left her house hungry.
Sandra leaves a twin sister, Cynthia Pavano of Kensington and three children, Susan Bisaccia and her partner James Mullin of Plainville, Sally Scheyd and her husband Joseph of Kensington, and Leonard Bisaccia and his wife Deborah of Brookfield. She was predeceased by two daughters, Lisa Marie and Janet Lee Bisacccia. Sandra also leaves behind three grandchildren, Katelyn and Charlotte Bisaccia and Kyle Scheyd. She was her grandson, Kyle’s biggest supporter, from cutting the cord to being his best Grammy Q.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at 11:30 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home of Berlin, 111 Chamberlain Hwy., Berlin. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held from 10 AM until the time of the service. Memorial donations in Sandy’s name may be made to Benhaven, Inc., 60 Church St., Suite #D, Wallingford, CT 06492.
