Scott William Robinson

Scott William Robinson of Columbus, Ohio passed away on November 5, 2026 after a long but fearless battle with metastatic prostate cancer. In his 69 years, he touched so many lives with his sense of humor, wisdom, and perseverance.

Scott was born on September 17, 1957, in New Britain, Connecticut. He was the son of Jane Robinson and William Robinson.

He earned his Bachelor of Arts in History from Eastern Connecticut State University, and his Master of Arts in Athletic Administration/Coaching from The Ohio State University. In his college years, he played intercollegiate basketball and was a member of the golf team. He went on to spend more than 40 years working within the insurance industry where he was known for his work ethic and commitment to others. He also led as an Assistant Coach for the Columbus State Community College baseball team.

A lifelong sports fan, Scott spent much of his life cheering on his teams. The Hartford Whalers always held the number one spot in his heart, but he was a day-one Columbus Blue Jackets season ticket holder and rooted for the New York Yankees and UConn Huskies. He enjoyed running, and completed numerous marathons in his lifetime. Beyond sports, Scott had a love for history, reading, puzzles, and music.

Despite his health challenges, Scott remained resilient and grateful. As someone who could strike up a conversation with anyone he met, he had a way of making connections and making people smile. He leaves behind warm memories filled with love, laughter, and life.

Scott is survived by his wife, Mindy Robinson; his daughters, Brittany (Jacob) Sturm, and Megan (Ryan) Stauffer; his granddaughter Scarlett Stauffer; his mother, Jane Gronback; his cousin Cheryl (Bill) Fritz; along with his dog Rusty. He will be remembered by many other family members, friends, and neighbors who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his father, William (Bill) Robinson; his stepfather, Linus (Lee) Gronback; his sister Beth Murphy and his brother-in-law Jerry Murphy.
