Thaddeus J. Rosinski

Thaddeus J. Rosinski, 91, of Kensington passed away at home on Friday, October 8, 2021.  He was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Janice (Kornas) Rosinski.

Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late Jan and Wladyslawa (Jastolowska) Rosinski.  Thaddeus was a Berlin resident for over 56 years where he and his wife raised their family. Ted or TJ as he was known to friends and family, started his career at Fafnir Bearing in New Britain in the mail room and worked his way up to Marketing Manager of the Torrington Company who had merged with Fafnir. He retired after 40 plus dedicated years and many great experiences and accomplishments in his field.

He loved spending endless hours with his grandchildren who affectionately call him Papa. Trips to McDonald’s for his morning coffee and a read of their favorite kids books or a card game of war was a regular event. He would tell them - ask questions, there are never too many questions you can ask!

Thaddeus was a man of strong faith and a devoted member of St. Paul Church in Kensington where he also volunteered as a religious education teacher.  He was a founding member of the Holy Name Society at Sacred Heart Church in New Britain.  Thaddeus enjoyed golf and traveling, especially his travels to Europe.  He also enjoyed his time volunteering at the Hospital of Central CT.

Surviving are his two sons, David Rosinski and his wife Barbara of Hartford, and Jon Rosinski of Berlin; and his grandchildren, Audrey Rosinski, Max Rosinski, Ben Rosinski, Lauren Oldziej and Kelly Oldziej.  Thaddeus was predeceased by his siblings; Julie Rosinski, Stanley Rosinski, Henry Rosinski, and Jean Kobus.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, October 15th at 11:30 AM at St. Paul Church in Kensington.  The Mass will also serve as a memorial Mass for Janice Rosinski who passed away in April of 2020 when Covid restrictions prohibited a funeral mass at that time.  Burial, with military honors, will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain.  Calling hours will be Thursday from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home of Berlin/Porters.
