Tim Schoenfield, age 63, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2025, after a short, hard-fought battle with cancer, surrounded by family and many friends. He was a wonderful man whose kindness, generosity, and steady presence touched countless lives.
Tim was born in Pasadena, Texas, in 1962 and graduated from North Little Rock High School in 1979 before entering the Navy. He proudly served as a Navy Corpsman from 1980 to 1987. After his service, he earned his nursing degree from the University of Connecticut and devoted his career to caring for others in many aspects of the nursing field as a Registered Nurse.
Throughout his career, Tim worked in areas ranging from the Emergency Department to home infusion, and later contributed to the pharmaceutical industry. He mentored countless colleagues, offering guidance, encouragement, and wisdom, leaving a lasting impact on everyone he worked with.
Tim leaves behind his wife, the love of his life, Laurie, and their cherished French Bulldogs, Henry and Sadie; his brothers, Doug (Carol) and Henry (Peter Sykes) Schoenfield; his sisters, Ruth Anna Leiter, Mary Landers, and Dottie (Tom) Keets; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Patty Schoenfield.
Tim enjoyed many passions and special moments throughout his life. He was an avid UConn basketball fan, and one of his favorite memories was traveling between San Antonio and New Orleans in 2006 to witness both the UConn Men’s and Women’s teams win as dual National Champions. He loved attending concerts with friends, especially seeing James Taylor, and treasured spending time at his home in Martha’s Vineyard, sharing it with the people he loved. Tim especially cherished sunsets, savoring every moment he could.
Tim will be remembered for his gentle heart, quiet strength, and the unwavering kindness he showed to everyone he met. He leaves behind a legacy of compassion, warmth, and love that will never be forgotten.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the doctors and all staff members from Veterans Affairs Oncology in West Haven for their excellent care and dedication during his illness. They also wish to thank Hartford HealthCare at Home Hospice Care for their support and compassionate care in his final days. Tim will be deeply missed and forever loved.
