Vivian Lavaughn (Ellerbee) Kahrmann

Vivian Lavaughn (Ellerbee) Kahrmann, 83, of Berlin, formerly of Windsor and New Britain, widow of Ellsworth Harry Kahrmann, passed away Sunday morning (January 22, 2017) at home with her family at her side. Born in Ashburn, Georgia, daughter of the late Luther and the late Annie Lou (Spradley) Ellerbee, she graduated from Macon Hospital School of Nursing, and was a Registered Nurse at New Britain General Hospital, The Industrial Medicaid Department of Stanley Tool, and later Colt Industries before retiring from ABB of Windsor. Vivian was a very compassionate RN, had a love for cooking and baking, was an avid reader, and enjoyed sewing and music. She is survived by three sons and three daughters-in-law, Harold and Debra Kahrmann in South Carolina, Jeffrey and Eileen Kahrmann of in Minnesota, and Darryl and Patricia Kahrmann of New Britain, two daughters and a son-in-law, Deborah and Gregory Piryk of Berlin, and Karen Kahrmann and her partner Alfred Perugini of South Windsor, seven grandchildren, Christopher and his wife Renee, Matthew, and David Piryk, Katherine Reardon and her husband Patrick, and Chelsey, Steven, and Kimberley Kahrmann, three great-grandsons, Cameron, Maxwell, and James, in-laws, Frances Ellerbee, Joyce and Larry Frigault, and Edna Kahrmann, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by four brothers, Harrold, Virgil, Bobby, and Garvin Ellerbee, and two sisters, Luthera Mitchell and Jeanelle Ham. God has Vivian in His loving arms, and we have her in our hearts. Friends and relatives are invited to call at Porter's Funeral Home, 111 Chamberlain, Berlin, on Thursday (January 26, 2017) from 5-7pm. A funeral service will be held Friday (January 27, 2017) at 10am DIRECTLY at Berlin Congregational Church, 878 Worthington Ridge, Berlin. Burial will follow in Maple Cemetery, Berlin.
