William S. Potash

KENSINGTON - William S. Potash, 69, of Kensington, loving husband of Joan (Wilson) Potash, died Saturday (December 4, 2015) at Hospice in Branford. Born in New Britain, son of the late William and the late Rose (Spensierri) Potash, he graduated from E.C. Goodwin Technical School, served in the National Guard, and was most recently employed by Armani Restoration. He was a member of St. Paul's Church, a painters union, a masons union, and the Italian Political Independent Club. He was a generous and giving man who always tried to help a person in need. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Brian Potash of Berlin, and William Potash of Florence, Vermont, a daughter, Darleen Rankin of Sudbury, Vermont, a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Carol Potash of Berlin, four grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Joan Gasperini. A Funeral Liturgy will be held Wednesday (December 9, 2015) at 10am DIRECTLY at St. Paul's Church on Alling Street in Kensington. Burial will follow in Maple Cemetery, Berlin. There are no calling hours. Because of his love and compassion for all animals, donations may be made to the Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Road, Newington, CT 06111.
