Anna "Ann" Adermach Obituary

Anna “Ann” (Strzelecki) Adermach, 64, of Middletown, widow of Steve Adermach, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2020 after her courageous battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia at Smilow Cancer Hospital with her daughter and wonderful nursing staff by her side.

Ann was born in Radzilow, Poland, on November 6, 1955, the daughter of Irena (Chrzanowska) Strzelecki and the late Stanley Strzelecki. She came to the US in 1964, where she later graduated from New Britain High School and the National Academy of Hair and Beauty.

She was employed at Global EDM/SST where she held several positions and most recently became inside sales manager in her over 20 years of dedicated service. She was a devoted wife to her husband Steve for over 36 years before his passing in 2011.  Nothing brought her greater joy than being a grandmother to Alex, Drew and Nate and enjoyed being their loudest cheerleader at football, basketball and baseball games. She adored dog sitting for her “Fur Grandson”, Guinness. Ann was compassionate, self-sacrificing and most of all stubborn but will be best remembered for her heart of gold and gift of gab.

In addition to her mother, Ann is survived by daughter, Christina Fries and her husband Brian of Bristol; three grandchildren, Alex, Drew and Nate; her sister-in-law, Celina Strzelecki; a niece, Ann Wilder; many cousins and her special friend to the end Jeff.  In addition to her husband and father, she was predeceased by a brother, Ryszard Strzelecki.

Ann being Ann had several specific requests: One was to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Smilow Cancer Hospital especially Dr. Prebet, Meg, Sue, Kelly and Danielle.  She also wanted to have her services on a Saturday as to not inconvenience anyone. Lastly, rather than waste money on flowers, send a donation to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Donor Services, P.O. Box 98018, Washington, D.C.  20090 or www.donate.lls.org/lls/donate, to help fund research to find a cure.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020 at 11:30 AM at St. Paul’s Church in Kensington.
