With great sadness the family of Daniel C. Saraceno of Kensington announces his passing 8 days short of his 89th birthday. He was the husband to Josephine (Pons) Saraceno and son of the late Stella (Kulak) Saraceno and Humbert Saraceno. Dan was born in New Britain and attended local schools before entering the Navy in 1952. He was very proud to serve his country and trained to be an Air Control Tower Operator and was assigned to various bases throughout the world. After being honorably discharged at the rank of Petty Officer 3rd Class, he returned to CT where he went on to a 41 year career at Fafnir Bearing Company until his retirement in 1992.
Dan enjoyed bowling, golf, UConn Women’s basketball, the NY Yankees and playing cards with friends and family. He treasured his time with family at various gatherings and good times spent with all at the family beach house in Old Lyme where all the children would gather around him to play as he was always a kid at heart.
He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 66 years, Josephine; his children and their spouses, Daniel R. and Nancy Saraceno, Jane (Saraceno) and Kenneth Panetta, his son-in-law Steve Kuzniecki; his grandchildren Jennifer (Saraceno) Buck, Jeffrey Saraceno and Larissa (Kuzniecki) Diorio and her husband Mark Diorio Jr; and his great-grandchildren Maya and Hannah Buck and Mark Diorio III. He was predeceased by his daughter, Joanne Kuzniecki.
